This installation was a collaboration between Max and sound engineer Dave Hunt. It was created for Art at the Centre, Reading in 2003.
The installation consisted of a piece of steel, suspended from a rotating metal boom. The steel was moved over stones placed in a circle, with a contact microphone under each stone. The resulting sound was then processed and amplified through a surround sound system in the space, which followed the position of the boom.
The piece is similar to another installation for a sound art festival in Riga, Latvia in 2005.
